Darcy's Botanicals

Ok.. so it's been a long time since I have updated this... I am still doing the Curly Girl Method. My hair is soo much more healthy. I need to get another picture up. I have found some really good products. I am really loving how healthy my hair feels. So much different from the coarse, frizzy feel before I started. My hair still is a little frizzy... but so much better than it was.

Pumpkin Seed Moisturizing Conditioner

Love the Pumpkin Seed Conditioner!! Smells really good(if you like pumpkin, which I do) and really gives your hair good moisture.

I've also tried the Herbal Leave-In Conditioner which I like the smell, kinda minty.. but all my other hair stuff is tropical fruity and pumpkin.. ( I am getting the other leave-in with a tropical fruit smell, I think i got pina colada and I will let you know how that is..) It does a good job for a leave-in conditioner.

I am waiting for an order of more products from them and I will let you know how they are.
(Can't wait..)

Do you hear a buzzing sound???

hu-mec-tant

n.

A substance that promotes retention of moisture.

adj.
Promoting retention of moisture.

Honey
I have started to use honey in my routine. It is a humectant. I have started to use it 50/50 with my conditioner. And also a pea-sized drop mixed into my gels.

My hair is starting to feel so much healthier. It's still a little frizzy in the back... but for the most part I like how this method is working.

There is a section on honey at sweetpeacurli's silly little site.

First Non-Shampoo Day

I think I am already seeing some results.. I definitely still have frizz and such. However I do see more definition on a lot of my hair. I need to go get a leave-in conditioner and I think that will help also.

What do you think?

Starting...

The Before
(Which turned out to be a pretty good hair day for me... Of course that's how it goes, right??)

The After
(Which is the first day, "last shampoo" and no-silcone products. They did say there is a transition period from 1 day up to 6 weeks... I'll give it 2 months and see)

Curly Girl

I was told by a friend, about the CG Method(Curly Girl). She sent me a few links to help me get started. I need to get the products to start but I wanted to have somewhere to keep track of how it is going, etc..

Getting Started

http://dormroomcurly.blogspot.com/2008/12/style-definitions-table.html

A good place I found product lists:

http://healthycurls.awardspace.com/index.html
She does state that she hasn't checked all of the products ingredients, so you should still check.

The CG Method Is about using sulfate and silicone free products.
It won't work for every Curly Girl.
I HOPE it will work for me!
I will pick my products.
Take a before picture.
And let you know as I go.

Oh, and one more site:
